Reiki Treatments

What is Reiki?

Reiki translated means 'Universal life energy.' Reiki is a gentle, natural energy which works to bring about balance within the individual. Reiki treatments are suitable for people of all ages and beliefs. It is practiced as a complimentary medicine with emphasis during reiki training on self-treatments as a path to developing conscious awareness and personal growth.

Many people experience more relaxation and a feeling of inner peace and calm. The general feedback from receiving reiki is one that suggests an increased sense of health and wellbeing and in feelings of happiness and positivity. Some feel more able to meet life's challenges more successfully. These experiences vary between individual clients.

My Reiki Journey

I eventually worked my way through the three degrees and finally completed the Reiki Master/Teacher degree. This was only the beginning of a very long journey of learning with some difficult challenges on the way. The reiki journey is only the beginning of a life-long learning process into discovering who we really are and it is comforting to know that we have the potential to tap into this energy and become aligned with our true nature. It is the most wonderful experience and I would love to support you on your journey too as I have been with my own teacher.

I first became interested in personal growth when I was in my early twenties and was very attracted to the concept of energy healing. I had just completed a music degree back home at Queen's University Belfast and had moved to London to continue my studies. It was an exciting time and I couldn't wait to get out in the world.

Working with energy is something I had always wanted to explore and I became curious so I decided to do some research. I came across reiki not long after and decided to book my first degree course with my reiki teacher Tina Shaw of 'Absolute Reiki.' We all progress in our own way and in our own time and your own path is unique to you. That is the beauty of reiki.

I am fully insured to practice and teach reiki.

I have Reiki western lineage but I have a more direct connection to Mikao Usui through Japanese lineage. Please contact me for details.

Reiki remote treatments and distant healing

I offer both reiki remote treatments and distant healing. Please note there is a very clear distinction between remote reiki treatments and distant healing:

Remote reiki treatments means the practitioner is directly connecting to and engaging with the client's energy field using a variety of standard hand positions over a longer period of time (around 40 minutes to an hour).

Distant healing is sent in a more general way (more similar to a prayer) and does not require the practitioner to treat the client as would be the case in a remote treatment.

Some of the benefits of reiki treatments include:

May be able to help you relax more easily

May create ability to deal with stress more effectively

Can help to create balance

May be able to support the natural healing processes of the body and immune system function

May be able to help increase feelings of happiness and positivity

May help you to feel grounded, focused and more centered

May help to provide pain relief

May improve sleep

May help release emotional blockages

May help improve concentration and memory

To book a reiki treatment, please visit the 'Book Now' page and I will be in touch to discuss details and to schedule a booking.

Disclaimer: Reiki is a complimentary therapy and not a substitute for receiving medical treatment or diagnosis. Please refer to your GP.

Can reiki do harm?

Reiki can only ever work towards your highest good. It is an intelligent energy and will only flow to where it is needed most. Sometimes reiki can trigger what we describe as a temporary healing crisis as the reiki redirects you into a state of balance. This can sometimes make clients feel emotional, tearful, etc. or they could have a period of lots of emotional ups and downs after a treatment but again, this is only temporary as any imbalances are brought into alignment.
